Unlike humans, lobsters do not have teeth in their mouths. Instead, they grind their food using a structure called the gastric mill, located in the stomach just behind the mouth. The gastric mill consists of three hard, tooth-like structures that function much like molar teeth. Similar gastric mills are also found in many other crustaceans, including crabs, crayfish, krill and barnacles.
