What is a wildebeest ?

Wildebeest are members of the antelope family but they resemble a small cow in appearance. They move in large herds that can even contain 1 million individuals. They are essential to an ecosystem because they only consume short grasses but this is helpful to the African environment because less grass means less wildfires.
